Ginger Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • zest and juice of one orange
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange zest and juice and fresh ginger. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, 12-15 minutes. Let cool for a few hours before serving.

Notes

  • This lasts up to 7 days in the fridge and a month in the freezer.
