Peru, in Photos

I’m horrible at telling people about my vacations. Any time anyone asks me how a trip was, my first reaction is always, “Oh, it was Ah-mazing.” When prodded to elaborate, I’ll talk about the weather or what the people are like or how good the food is, revealing very little about the actual places that I saw or the meals that I had or the things that I did. I could literally sum up the entire six months I lived in Madrid into two sentences, one of which is “I need to go back.”

It’s not that I have nothing to say about each new place — most of the time, I have too much to say. But often, that’s boring and well, in the case of travel at least, a picture really is worth a thousand words. So here is my trip to Peru, in picture form. (The captions provide more context for these photos, so read those … because apparently, I can’t tell a story entirely in words or entirely in photos. Whoops.)

I will say this about Peru: the people really were ridiculously friendly and the weather really did work out for us (we went on the cusp of their rainy season, but weren’t really slowed down by rain at all). HA.
